NASSP Community Guidelines

Welcome to the NASSP Online Community 

This platform is designed exclusively for NASSP members and advisers from schools participating in our Student Programs. Our guidelines aim to foster a professional, collegiate, and cordial environment where members can share ideas, resources, and engage in meaningful conversations. 

Eligible Members 

  • NASSP Members (School Leaders / Principals) 

  • Advisers from National Honor Society member schools 

  • Advisers from National Junior Honor Society member schools 

  • Advisers from National Elementary Honor Society member schools 

  • Advisers from National Student Council member schools 

 

These guidelines are intended to promote a professional atmosphere. NASSP reserves the right to remove individuals who do not adhere to the spirit or culture of collaboration. 

 

Community Etiquette 
 

The success of the NASSP Online Community depends on member participation.  Always communicate with others as you would in person, and keep the following in mind: 

 

  1. Respect Different Perspectives: Acknowledge that others may have different viewpoints, styles, and experiences. Provide constructive feedback and avoid offensive, defamatory, hateful, or abusive language. Do not harass or spam other members. 

  1. Positive Contributions: Share content that reflects your opinion and experience, especially if it will benefit other members. 

  1. No Solicitation: Do not sell, solicit, or advertise personal services/products. 

  1. Stay On-Topic: Ensure discussions are relevant to professional topics and the platform’s purpose. Avoid irrelevant content. 

  1. Share Wisely: Information shared on the platform is accessible to everyone in your group. Only share what you want everyone to know. 

  1. Report Violations: Report any content or actions that violate community guidelines. NASSP reserves the right to delete content and adjust user privileges as necessary. 

 
Things to Remember 

  • The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) and the NASSP Online Community are not responsible for the content provided by users on the site. The content provided by users does not represent NASSP or the NASSP Online Community. 

  • Use common sense when reading any recommendations or advice. Consult a professional (e.g. your principal, your lawyer, national staff) when making any important decisions. 

  • Issues of policy and procedure can be sensitive and should not be posted as discussion topics. If you need to clarify issues of policy or procedure, please send an email to membership@nassp.org.  

  • The NASSP Online Community is not a substitute for direct communication with our office, nor is it the appropriate place for official responses from NASSP Team Members.  You can send an email directly to your primary point of contact or submit your inquiry to membership@nassp.org

  • Participation in all NASSP online communities is voluntary. By posting information, materials and content to this platform, you grant NASSP and members of this community the right to display, copy, publish, distribute, transmit, print, and use such information or other materials in any way and in any medium, including but not limited to print or electronic form.
